Issues with Norton AV while zwifting
Twice in the past week Norton has launched a popup for me to enable some browser extension in Microsoft Edge. Anyone else have this issue? Any work-arounds? I tried to configure norton in settings to not interrupt zwift but was not successful.
I was really annoyed because I don't even use edge. I dumped mcafee for about the same reasons. When a security suite creates pop-ups they are no less bothersome than pop-ups from other sites. Can't the security software folks understand that they need to run in the background?
Looking for a new security suite software program, any suggestions for one that doesn't interrupt Zwift or Systm X?

I believe zwift uses edge.
I would get rid of norton, assuming you are using win 10 or 11. Microsoft ships everything you need with the OS, you're going to have to enable it now though.

Norton is a nightmare. I agree ditch it and just use Windows Defender.

Norton & McAfee I can’t uninstall fast enough.
In the past I’ve found Trend Micro better behaved.

The free stuff from microsoft is better. The other companies have gotten very close to turning into bad actors.

Get a Mac. But seriously, I have no other idea as I haven't touched a windows machine in 5 years now that I've retired.

I imagine using edge for login is enough to get Norton excited. Microsoft pops something up from the task bar occasionally due to zwift starting up, but I'm never wearing my glasses when it happens so it's lost on me. And it just disappears after about 15 seconds.

I'm a software engineer by trade, and I agree with previous posts suggesting you dump Norton if you're running Windows and are keeping-up with software updates (which Microsoft doesn't let you ignore for the most part). Norton creates more problems than it solves.
