Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

With as much time as I spend on it, I should look into what I need to run Zwift in 4k on my PC. I think my video card can handle it so it's prob not a huge investment

Bean Station hail alert!

Needed about 20 more minutes to finish morning mowing activities, but the downpour hit. Alas.

Luckily, when we closed down the old site, the IT department collected all the computers and peripherals and saved a bunch of them for us, so I was able to go fetch a new dock and plug everything in while the meeting was still going. Also luckily I wasn't the one running the meeting.

Last I knew, you're fine with a pretty mundane computer but you need a kickass video card, because the video card is the limiting factor. The Younger Boy was parting out his old computer last year, and gave me his old motherboard and gaming video card, but even with that, if I try to run it at 4K the frame rate is low.

I had a nice little nap between km 40. and km 23, so I feel much better now. 100 degrees at 11:00. Lovely.

Maybe if you didn't get up in the middle of the night you wouldn't need to take a nap mid-morning?

There can't be many bass recorders in the world.

No, but it's definitely not the biggest recorder in the world....

We are heading to LAX. Waiting at gate at PHL.

We are flying Spirit, which seems to be the Saturn of airlines.

Supposedly getting an update on our daughter’s status at USC at 1PM PDT. Stay tuned.

I had no idea they made recorders that big lol. Is it still the same finger action to play "hot cross buns"?

Update: the suspended students are allowed to “walk” for graduation. There are still unresolved issues regarding the suspension so we shall see. Issue is Heidi is so overwrought about the past few days she may skip graduation anyway.

she’s going to have to toughen up if she’s going to continue to pursue the non-violent resistance game.. sometimes you spend a night in jail.
