3x7 brifters options
I am currently updating a hybrid flat bar frame to drop bars. I want to keep the current drive which is a Shimano Deore LX 3x7.
I know I can use Shimano RSX 3x7 brifters but what other options would work? I am looking for something more modern if they can be adapted.
Is it possible to use a Shimano Claris 3x8? I have tried to research cable pull as it seems this comes in to play.
The bike in question is a 1992 Schwinn Crosspoint with Shimano Deore LX 170mm. 30/40/50T crank and a Shimano Hyperglide cassette 7-speed 12-14-16-18-21-24-28T.
Thank you in advance.

You'll find the front derailleur isn't going to shift correctly. You'll need a flatbar front derailleur like a CX series.
