WTB - Campy Mirage 9-Speed Long Cage RD

As the title indicates, looking to replace the current RD on Mrs. Romperrr's Rodriguez. A late night bike ride ended with her accidently shifting into the spokes and the RD exploded, thankfully the wheel is unharmed. Doesn't need to be pristine, just needs to work. Open to other models as well. Pic here of what I'm looking for, borrowed from Velobase.

Very curious, Campagnolo has long cage derailleurs, but cassettes with a large cog >26 teeth is difficult to get unless it’s a different brand. Go figure!
Cheers,
Van

Catnap that looks like an 8-speed deraileur, do you know if it can shift 9-speed? My knowledge here is limited.

Thank you for the offer!

Be sure to double check that wheel and especially the spokes. When this happened to me I failed to notice tiny little nicks and excoriations on some of my spokes. They much later failed one by one popping at the most inopportune times...

A lot of the later 8 speeds will pull the same for 9 speed. Not sure if this is one or not.

That said, the embossed 9 speed, long cage Mirage (or Veloce, or Avanti) are rare birds to find intact.

I bought it alongside a pile of Campy 8-speed parts from a guy at the Westminster swap, so yeah I agree it's probably 8-speed. Saying "probably" because I couldn't find it on Velobase or an example on eBay. My understanding is that 8-speed Campy rear derailleurs also work with 9-speed; this comes from having an 8-speed Record groupset where the brifter was upgraded to 9-speed and the system worked fine. That said, I have not tested this Mirage derailleur with a 9-speed shifter, so no guarantees.

That is an excellent reminder, thank you very much, I will do just that.

I have a 9sp Mirage on a Bianchi, matched with a 12-30 Sachs 7sp freewheel.

$10 from a co-op's box of derailleurs

That's a heck of a deal! I'm friendly with my local coops, but I don't think they have anything like that laying around.

@romperr - Not sure where the Arsenal of Democracy is located, but the 'lower quality' components are often overlooked, deemed undesirable. I seldom visit the co-ops, just got lucky one time.
