Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Though today was a roadbike day. Had to deliver the car to Baca for wife’s later return. The mtb is so much more fun.

I’ve never seen it, but it/he won several awards.

Fun fact: The actor who played Lawrence in Office Space is the same guy who played Rex, the Rexkwondo instructor, in Napoleon Dynamite.

Diedrich Bader. Also on the Drew Carey show, American Housewife, and he played Jethro Bodine and his cousin in the Beverly Hillbillies movie.

Nice ride today except for a pretty strong wind on the return trip. You know, the swirling wind when you are descending and you're not sure if you can keep a straight line. You can't hear anything but the wind and it doesn't seem to help when you draft someone. Anyway after 15 miles of that it got a lot better when we got out of the hills except for one gust that blew a bunch of bees at us. Bees were bouncing off of me and it felt like one got into my helmet but I didn't get stung.

I just finished stage 15. Such a treat to watch Nairo racing again in the mountains. And to see the Contador/Quintana interview.
Old school.

I find myself tiring, but your streak keeps me motivated. I did skip Pilates this morning though.

In the TV series, yes. As noted above, Dietrich Bader played him the in movie.

I’m going to assume you know who Jr.’s dad was.

Correct, but like many other remakes, it's tough to replace the real thing, even if it was a movie.

Absolutely on the boxer. Old school pre-war fighter. I can't imagine.

Slow night.

Everyone must be mentally processing the surprise announcement that the KCB director is retiring after the July concert.

The winds of change are blowing.
