Nishiki - modelo?
Hello!
I've had this bike since 2000. I don't know the model. I've done a lot of trips with it, it's a great bike.
Does anyone know which model?
The record is difficult to read...
YF007
I can't send photos.

Pic assist:
The YF007 is just a product number for that cable guide. The serial number is the one actually stricken into the BB shell itself, going around the circumference of it. It appears to end in 10545, but there are probably more digits at the beginning. Will require cleaning up the crud down there.
Also, get a photo of the bike overall from the other side. Seeing the drive components, and how they're fitted to the bike, will provide more info. Is there a head-badge?

need help : Frame and Decals Nishiki International US-model 1979 CI 09982
this is the US frame I shot in the german secondhand market a few days ago .
As you can see, the decals and labels are very badly scratched and can hardly be read.
My question and request to you:
- are there any pictures here in the Nishiki Forum of International frames with these special very early Nishiki decal shapes?
- Are there new decals in this special form available to buy as a replacement?
Unfortunately I haven't found anything suitable so far..... and here is an enlargement of the image, in which the special letter shape of the NISHIKI label can be better seen with lines on the left and right.
Thanks for Your informations and help. Gerhard

The fame tubing decal is the Double Butted Chrome Molybdenum. An example can be found here:
1980 Nishik International
An example of the seat tube decal can be found here:
1979 Nishiki Olympic 12
I think you are correct about the decals being 1979 Nishiki USA.
The serial number is for Nishiki Canada. But I have never seen a Canadian Nishiki with these decals.
The 1979 Canadian Nishiki International had the same tubing decal, but different seat stay caps.
Very strange Nishiki bicycle indeed.

I will try to use these decals as a model for new decals to reproduce. I hope so .

Have a Nishiki Altron with serial number W89090096 (or possibly 96006068M) and looking to decipher it. Have looked at the database, but this number doesn't actually match any of the patterns I see. Believe this to have been manufactured in 1989 or August of 1990. Unable to post pictures since I don't have 10 posts yet, but if you go to UserX.org ---> Diversion ---> Housewares you will see a heading for 1989 Nishiki Altron. Have high resolution pictures and highly descriptive. Can anyone help with this?

The fork looks like a replacement from another bike
Here it is. Is this a strange animal or not?
Fluorescent green/yellow Nishiki Altron, at least it has an Altron sticker on the main tube, All components (Front and rear derailleur, brakes, cranks) are Shimano 600 except the hubs which are Shimano 105.
Here is the hinky part, the frame states Tange Prestige. The fork is white and has a sticker that claims 4130.
I can get better pictures later if needed. Looking at the serial number I'm assuming the bike is 1987+ as the serial number does not jive with 87 and under serial numbers.
Seat stays are chrome from hub to seat and crank.
Serial number AL90056803
What are your thoughts?

Have an Altron that looks very similar to yours. Believe the one I have is from the year earlier. The fork is chrome plate over CrMo steel. It has a clear coat protective layer. Yours looks like it came from another bike.

I know that your original post is more than 2 years old.
OP's original post.
OP's album
the serial number you quoted is missing one digit at the end. The serial number is from the manufacturer Giant of Taiwan. The year of frame manufacture is 1989. The model appears to be a Nishiki Sport.
