50+ Cycling Survey

Hi! If you're like me, older but still riding, please take this survey from the Mineta Transportation Institute at San Jose State University; we need to let people know it's not just young 'uns on bikes. It's anonymous and takes about 20 minutes; it's mostly multiple choice (one of those "pick one" when you really want to pick three), with an optional two-ride log at the end. Thanks.

I have to agree to their terms before I get to see the questions, and it takes 20 minutes .... and since I don't live on the left coast, it really doesn't benefit me at all ......

"dblTilde CORE, Inc., in partnership with the Mineta Transportation Institute, San Jose State University, is conducting a survey to gather your thoughts and preferences about cycling as an older adult. Your responses are very important, no matter how much or little you cycle, or whether you cycle at all." Wait .... my responses are considered equally and only as valid as some person who doesn't ride? That makes no sense.

" If you participate, there are no anticipated risks to you and no anticipated benefits other than the satisfaction of sharing your views with the researchers." In other words, zero benefits. I have to take the survey to see if I think the survey is worth taking?

Maybe the Mineta Institute should talk with the advertising and psych professors.

Enjoyed it. I often feel uncomfortable when I recognize my diminishing skills in ridding. But really the pictures did not present any conditions that I could not handle. It has bolstered my confidence... Ha

Not bad, but it would have been better if "Other" (write-in) had been an option for all questions. Specifically, there were many situations depicted and described where-in I would only ride if alone. Sometimes, controlling informal group rides is like herding kittens, and it seems many of these scenarios in the photos demand some order.
