Campagnolo Daytona Groupset 10 speed

I know, not technically c and v, but it's campy, and it's silver and it would look great on any c and v frame.

Includes everything pictured: Ergo levers, brake calipers, front (braze on) and rear derailleurs, crankset with fixing bolts, and bottom bracket.

In excellent functional condition, with some cosmetic blemishes, but overall pretty nice looking.

$325 shipped or $350 shipped with cassette.

Thanks!

I have a 9-speed Daytona groupset on my 2000 Bob Jackson. It performs excellently. I have no idea of what it should sell for, but for people who are considering one of the lesser-known Campagnolo offerings but might not be familiar with it - I give it my endorsement.

Needs that Ferrari Daytona draw.
I think Campagnolo got in trouble for using that Daytona model name.

That’s a dang good deal. I just spent considerably more piecing together a Dura Ace 10 speed group. GLWS!

You are correct. I think it was only out for a year and they had a partner saddle from one of the Italian companies for a saddle as well (which I have).

Remarketed as Centaur I think.

Grab this groupset and put it on your Cervelo Olympic, and you'll be good to go!

Free bump!

I'm running it on one of my David Kirk built bikes and it works flawlessly. Every bit as good as any of my Campagnolo stuff out on the road and it looks beautiful on the bike. Great deal for someone.

Is the Daytona group still for sale? I know it’s an older post but still keen.

Not sure about the cassette exactly. 25t largest cog. I think it's same tier as the group, so in the Centaur, Veloce, Daytona range. 10 speed.

I’d have to check but I think Daytona was available for a year in 10 speed before they got sued and changed the name to Centaur. My wife has a Daytona 9 speed bike and I have a couple of Centaur 10 speed and functionally I can’t tell the difference from Chorus or Record 10.

Pretty sure you are correct SL. The two year period near 2000 saw the Daytona go from 9 to 10, then become Centaur, which is why I think Centaur was never 9 speed. Could be completely wrong though.

Centaur was MTB originally...?

Centaur and Daytona coexisted for a while both as 9 and 10 speed groups.

I think Centaur was a defunct MTB part group (and a really decent one) when they dropped mountain bike stuff in 1993ish? Xenon went away too.

So I seem to remember that Centaur was brought back simply for the Daytona hub-bub...There may have been another component that also suffered that fate (can’t recall that).

I am no expert though and was not following bicycling at all in that period of time.

Maybe it was a US thing then?

I feel in Europe Centaur was Daytona's slightly less polished/refined little brother for at least a few years.

Took these off my Dream Lux....
