Falling off bikes

Does anyone know what happens if I fall off my bike and I broke something like say my laptop that is in my bag?

(this is a "what if" that has been on my mind for a while.)

(also I tried searching and the search is broken.)

I think you no longer have a working laptop, if that happens.

I'm more likely to break part of myself when I fall off of my bike. Maybe that's just me...

Ah, yeah, I had no idea what you were talking about.
Probably out of pocket.
I can't imagine insurance covering you if you fall off your bike and break your computer.

Check out some renter's insurance policies. Some of them might cover, um, breakage, even outside of your apt/house. And who would you sue? Does your "what if" include outside forces like cars or peds?

much better, my headache is subsiding as i type this. oh yeah, it would seem that you'd run into difficulties trying to collect from your insurance company. if i collected everytime i took a spill and broke/tore something, my premiums would be out-worldly. and who would you sue?

If I got hit by a car or a pedestrian (or they were the cause of the accident), I would go through there insurance.

Yeah, if you were hit by a car or a pedestrian caused the accident.
Did either of those things happen?
Or is this all really just hypothetical?

I wouldn't really sue. I am not the type of person to do that. I needed three things to make a list.

No, nothing happend.

But I have been known to crash, and I always have my laptop with me... I figured I should ask before I need to.

As a practical matter, check out the laptop cases made by Pelican (www.pelican.com). There's probably one that will a) fit your computer, and b) fit in your bag. If you have your laptop in one of these when you crash, there's a much better chance that it'll come out un(or less)scathed.

I have seen those before, but the thing is, I just can't get into it. I bought the computer I have so I can throw it in my bag and take it with me anywhere, without it ever being a hassle. That functionality would be ruined if it had a huge chunk of metal encasing it.

i've got renter's insurance to cover 5000 dollars worth of **** (sadly that's probably more than i own, outside of car, bike, computer-- and those are all covered separately) and i forget what it's called but i am covered with all kinds of personal liability and all that stuff on my bike, like a car. if i hit someone, it's covered. if someone hits me, it's covered. if i fall and break my arm or my laptop (what laptop u__u ) it's covered. this is all through usaa which i have my car insurance through, and it totals at like 12 dollars a month. pretty good stuff.

what's wrong with that sentence (other than maybe a lack of quotation marks)?

if you have a problem with a sentence, wouldn't it be this one:

They have laptop specific insurance. I asked about this a year or so ago on here. Someone had it...but who? I don't recall it being that expensive. But then again, I have never heard of anyone crashing and breaking their laptop (though I am sure it happens)
