Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

FSA RD-80 rims

The older Mavic rims that came with my roadie are starting to go out of true. Now I could have them trued up, but I really do not like the way they look. My entire bike is black and silver with the exception of my rims which are brown (ick).

I can get a pair or FSA RD-80s on Nashbar for $136 right now after the 20% discount, but I cannot find any feedback on them. I really could not afford more than that right now, but if the have decent bang for the buck I might go for them.

Anyone have any clue about these rims?

I have an RD-80 front wheel that has been hammered pretty hard and it is still true with no problems. My rear was damaged in a crash and so was replaced. They are good wheels for the money, not featherly light, but strong, they look good and at that price you cant go wrong.

I want to bump this to get some info on these wheels. I just bought a slightly used set for $100. I couldn't find a lot of info on them besides this thread and what the sellers say. What do you all think?

I rode these for 3 years and they are still true. Great value and a good training wheel.
