Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? BFSSFG iro = the next chrome pista

also, speaking of pistas I am facing a dillema and maybe you guys can help, so I have a fairly nice pista(miche primato cranks/formula/deep V) and I don't want to spend that much money on the new bike, I want to keep the pista rideable as a rain bike or somthing, so I have the options of:

a)swap the primatos(pretty beat up) to the iro and buy a set of RDs(how big is the quality jump?) for the pista

b)buy some 75s for the iro and start from scratch(I am planning on building it up with deep V/formula and nitto stuff in the cockpit(tee hee "cockpit") and a regal underneath my ass

c) use more parentheses

so it seems that if I go from scratch the total cost will be

150 for the frame
180 for the crank
290 for the wheels(I used to be able to find them for cheap but these days they seem to have gotten expensive, if you can point me to a person who sells inexpensive deep V formula combos than shoot me a link)
150 for stem bars cog lockring etc.
70 for saddle

=$940

As mentioned before, measure BB to top of your seat, and your top tube plus stem.
subtract the frame measurements from the IRO website, and check which is fitting the closest 56 or 53.
If the numbers are right in the middle I personally chose always the smaller as it is easier to increase the length of the stem or the seat post .

I forget the startling number of pistas sold, but 200 or so of these frames spread out across the U.S. won't come close. It's more one of a kind than just another carbon copy

the only real qustion is why I'm responding seriously to such a snarky troll

haha, yeah that crossed my mind. But just like on the conspiracy theory forums, where there are paid CIA disinformation agents, there must be guerilla marketing agents on here, to make posts saying what is hot and all that. Pay day for me tomorrow too, 62 blue, maybe 62 green as well

im not really into color schemes (my ride is currently pretty coordinated, and i feel a little silly), but i think yours is pretty rad. green and brown. i think some minimal gold components would complement the green too, like a chain, for example. but not with the brown.
also, for all the color debating, sure seems like everyone and their mom are going for the flat black. i know me and my girl are.

i'll be building that Jamie Roy, BFSSFG IRO and building my Windsor Hour back up (putting most its parts on the JR) for about 900 dollars in new parts and the frames. But the total of new and recycled parts is kind of sickening, i could be giving that money to Africa or something. The list would be half a page long at least.

Don't really need another bike but I placed my deposit anyways. Now to find a place to hide it from the wife.

53 in blue just because I don't have a blue bike anymore and my Surly is green.

If I read this right 103 deposits have been put down so far this week. With 3 more weeks for us indecisive bastards to make up our minds. Way to go Tony, I think you've got a winner on your hands.

Since my predictive powers have been so good so far I'm also going to predict that 40% or more of the frames ordered will be black, but probably not as many as 50%
