Zion Country Early Spring Century?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was looking at the website linked above and, from the map, I couldn't tell what the routes were. Is there a route guide anywhere? It sounds interesting.

As much as I would like to head somewhere warmer and ride, I can't fit this into my schedule. Let us know how it goes.

To me it looks as if it is just an out and back from St. Georges to Zion. If that is the case it will be a pretty boring ride. The scenery as always will be good, but not too exciting of a route. I rode Hwy 9 for 10 years or so and I can tell you it is not that engaging.

I think it is from St. George to somewhere near the entrance to Zion and back. (The maps on the web site suck). They have a metric century and a 50 miler also. My wife is going to ride one of those.
I got in 70 miles yesterday, so with another weekend left before the event I think I'll at least survive.

I'm from S.L.C., so it's early for me. We only had about 3 days above freezing in January.
Congrats on finishing yours!
(Hope I get through mine without feeling too miserable).

As long as the wind is not bad, the ride won't be overly difficult. There are some longer hills, but nothing really steep. Just enjoy the scenery and hopefully some nice springlike weather. Of course if it gets windy, could be a long day.

It is beautiful scenery down there, and the weather is usually great too.
As far as wind goes, I'll be looking for a hammerhead and wheel suckin' .
