Trek 7.7FX or 7.9FX
I want to replace my Gary Fisher Utopia with a new Hybrid. I am looking at Trek FX bikes.
Any opinion on the full carbon fiber 7.9FX?

Pointless, especially if you are comparing to the 7.7. You don't get near enough benefit from one bike to the other for the cost. Plus, the carbon frame is a whole lot easier to ding up.
Save your money for a carbon frame road bike.
I've got a 7.6 that I have been riding for a while. No complaints at all. It is fast, light and nimble.

7.9 is pretty extreme. Lots of dough, makes the 7.7fx look like a great deal. Bring em in for the high end, sell em the runner up.
