Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Warning: shill alert. New schwag. KCNC stems

Warning. This is not a shill free zone.

I just received a KCNC SC Wing stem for my Look build in progress. This thing looks beautiful. Almost like an Art Deco sculpted piece of jewelry. Hard to tell from the pictures, but the design is etched into the metal, with an off white coloration. This stem is museum worthy. Smooth lines. Very happy customer here.

I don't think there is a spacer below the stem

^^^ Correct. It is loose and no spacers yet. Not finished. Very soon though, very soon.

I would take a Sharpie and fill in all the ghetto etching from a Taiwanese school child.

I don't see what's so special; it's a machined aluminum alloy stem like my ITM millennium 4EVER (which I think looks better). But I am so glad you (the OP) like it enough to start a thread about it (really, I am); I appreciate bike love, kinky as that may sound.

The guys on the WW forum would appreciate more. It's a light stem. Congrats.

Is it typical for the torque specs to be engraved on like that? Speaking as someone who's stripped a few threads in his time, that's kind of cool.

I fit in a lot easier than my old fsa carbon post which took a lot to get out and got very scratched up, this post doesn't seem to scratch easily either. I set it up well but I bought a new stem and bars so it'll take some riding to get everything adjusted properly. The clamp is a little hard to set up due to trying to get clearance for a hex key but it's a lot more adjustable than my old one, and once it's set up, you're done anyway.

Why? In that 2 square mm picture of the guys bike up there, he has like 20 words. Fits right in.

The weight written on it is rather gratuitous. The design on the top is kind of cool though.
