haha that's exactly the reason why I sold my Pulse because it was too rough on long rides. I'd be so tired after just 40 miles. You'd be doing yourself a favor if you do trade for something else

The guy also threw in a Thomson stem and gold Answer pro taper that I can put on there. However, he must have been huge because its a 140 stem, and I dont think I need it that long if I want it to be comfortable.
Thanks for the compliments. I am really looking forward to taking it on the trails so it can kick my ass.

Cinelli Priest.
Right now they are some crappy platforms. I am waiting on my Surly wheel set, which should arrive tomorrow. I just took the only pedals I had laying round so I could kick it about town. I have some nice SPDs leftover from a previous ebay bike that will actually match and work fine on the trails.

After months of lurking and commenting on other people's bikes, I finally have photos of my conversion.
BEFORE:
and AFTER:
Its an '85 Fuji Espree, $50 from Craig's List. Initially I just put removed the freewheel and rotafixed a cog... but for Christmas my dear wife bought me a track hub (well, she took me to Harris Cyclery and bought me parts to lace up my own wheel. She rocks.)
I ride it nearly every day to the train station... a short ride (10 minutes or so), but I have done it rain, snow or shine, every day since last August. The only three exceptions: twice I had to drive to other commitments that required a car, and once there was an ice storm.
When there is snow on the roads I ride a different bike (one with tread on the tires!), but once the snow is plowed, I'm back on this thing.
Its a pretty relaxed riding position... the top tube is a bit short, and I will lower the stem when I get around to it, but it works well for my purposes.
Next I'll add some aerospokes...

Very nice bike. Don't ruin it with aerospokes.
What size frame is it?

wow, actually i am interested in one of your salsa stems. the project bike i just finished has turned into my daily ride and its 1" threaded, and the stem i have on there now is by far the ugliest, most uncomfortably angled interim stem i've ever used.

looks like someone actually bought one of those kazane things
Just judging from the picture, I think it's one of the best-fitting-to-me frames I've seen in this whole effing thread, in addition to be a beautiful frameset and a great bike overall. Please don't wreck it - and yeah, I'm relieved you're not going to aerospoke it

my wife got me a pair of 294's for xmas and for 129.99, i felt the frame was warranted. Although she make fun of me since the tires are worth more than the frame
