Riding Without Socks - Am I the Only One?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Riding Without Socks - Am I the Only One?

The other day I was getting ready to go out for a ride and realized I didn't have any socks with me and I didn't have any on my feet, so I decided to go out for a ride without socks...

It felt great. My feet stayed dry, my tan lines are going to be less obvious. Is there a good reason to wear socks? Am I missing something?

Do any of you all go sockless in the summer?

BTW, I wear Shimano SH-R085 with SPD-SL 105 pedals.

During the summer, I'll ride without socks on most rides.

Though, to beg the greater question: do we really need a thread about whether people wear socks when they ride?

I tried it when I had some shoes that were a 1/2 size too small, but it hurt so I got new shoes and wear socks now.

My shoes have somehow become a touch small for me so I rode without socks today and thought it felt great. Will likely do that a lot more from now on.

Yeah, because a 112 mile race with penalties for drafting after swimming two and a half miles isn't cycling.

Triathletes cycle. Why are they not counted as cyclists?

Buying used shoes is way more weird than going without socks.
