Hey - the kid finished her homework late, so all we had time for was this. See ya tomorrow:

That's ok - I had to break some of the tension that was building. Wow can't wait to see that China Blue Cinelli assembled!

Time to sell the kid to the gypsies. Doesn't she know how important this is to the rest of us?

How much good is that homework going to do her in the real world? Wrenching on bikes is a much more rewarding skill than math/english/history proficiency.

I can't hardly believe you didn't put it together and ride around the block. I think you are toying with us.

Oh, lose the saddle and bar tape. White or black, it's all good, but that is hideous.

Did he actually pack like that? No bubble wrap or similar padding around the exposed edges? Tape just centimeters from the Cinelli downtube logo?

An E for effort, but that fellow has some packing to learn about...

It's really annoying living on the other side of the world - while you lot are sleeping I'm pacing back and forth just waiting for the packing to come off the frame.

I agree with OFG - the kid should be sold to the Gypsies - infact - I'm looking up their phone number now!

Ok - here are the preliminaries. The tape is ugly, the saddle is ugly, and the stem is about as ugly a stem as I've ever seen - all issues easliy addressed:

There's some kind if perverse irony in a Cinelli bike with Italmanubri stem and ITM bars.

Yeah, those ITM bars and stem were all the rage in the early 90s if I recall correctly. I think Pantani's Mercatone Uno team had them.

BBM, Very lovely bike. I'm sure it will serve you well, and I think you got one heck of a deal, all things considered.

I just had a talk with a friend about your bike, and he agreed, it should be a keeper!

Lord knows I'm not one for coddling kids, but I've seen how unmercifully BBM teases his daughter, so I think he owes her this one.

BBM - Bee-yoo-tee-fool. I can hardly wait to go for a ride with you perched on it. Maybe you'll finally get some comments on your bike instead of my Ron Cooper hogging all the ride-by glory.

Pogliaghi - simply awsome frame. I would gladly sell BBM's daughter to the gypsies for that frame - if it were my size. I love the old-time Cinelli graphics. To my eye, the only thing that could make it better is if it was painted that classic Cinelli silver. But that is a very, very minor quibble.

That happened again to me last week. I was riding the Bike Around The Buttes on my stunning little Swiss Mondia, but Bill's Schwinn boat-anchor Paramount got all the raves. Go figure.......

+1 beautiful Cinelli. Agreed on the tape and stem. Saddle (B17 Ti?) works for me.

Beeeeautiful bike Big Boss Man. Definately worth the wait.

Personally, I think brown goes well with the china blue colour but I would have to change the bars and stem to Cinelli items.

I had to log on at work - couldn't wait to view your Cinelli when I got home tonight. By the way, I'm a school teacher and have just left my class working to log on in my office. I'm going back into the classroom now the give the students their homework for the night.

Simply love your Cinelli.

Gary.

Stem - I've seen worse, but it goes, too.

Saddle - that B-17 looks just fine on that machine, although I would have expected a Pro instead. It should darken over time and with use, too. Only reason to ditch it is if it isn't comfortable. And if it isn't, there will always be a Brooks afficianado who gladly take it off your hands.

Rider - hopeless. Simply hopeless.

I have a feeling that bike would retain its beauty with the bars wrapped in shellacked newspaper and a block of wood for the saddle.

That might be going a bit too far, but you get the idea
