Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It makes a great cleaning product too ... sprinkle a little baking soda in the bathtub, give it a scrub with a cloth or sponge, and your bath tub will look sparkling clean ... without chemical products!

I believe baking soda helps endurance athletes. Some athletes take a tea spoon a day.

Corn starch can be helpful in one's bibs. Baking soda? probably not so much.

They say it helps buffer lactic acid a bit.

Baking soda in the shorts would be a bad idea because of skin irritation. That said, I often use it under the arms, mixed with a fav cologne (cologne first, then BS) for a fool proof deoderant. Care must be taken to not apply too much (irritation), or to use it while wearing a dark shirt or you begin to see a white stain on the shirt.

In regular biscuits, the recipe just calls for baking powder, but buttermilk biscuits require a little baking soda. I think I can safely say that eating lots of homemade biscuits will not turn you into an endurance athlete.
