i guess it's appropriate for a Pista seen in midtown in front of an overpriced cafe.

Well if you are anything like me and you cycle any sort of distance or at decent cadence and arnt in the absolute best shape imaginable or a robot, your hands might get sweaty. You might then hit some sort of bump and you know, slip off the bars and impale your chest WITH A SHAAAARK.

You can buy clear grips, those clearly do not have grips on them. I used to only have my drops wrapped and the first time I rode in the rain I wrapped the rest of the bars. Stuff gets mad slippery. Plus oklahoma roads are notoriously thrashed.

I wasn't referring to the bars comfort and I wouldn't use a bike set up like that for long distance rides. I thought he meant the bars had some sort of mechanical failure to it. Slippery bars, then grip them up. Of course any bar without grips would be slippery. I read the blog he said the bars come with clear Keirin grips FYI. Those bars are stupid ugly for sure.
There is nothing inherently dangerous or uncomfortable about those bars. No bars have grips/tape built it, they all have to have grips/tape installed by someone. These bars can be gripped/taped as easily as any other bars.

I'm glad you cleared that up, because I had no idea what Brvn meant when he replied to the question "what type of handlebar is this" with "the dangerous one and uncomfortable one." What's so dangerous about them? It's not a real shark...
