Is there any good trick for cleaning up rims after somewhat sloppy gluing on of tires?

MEK for sure. Cleans very well, dries quickly, and leaves no residue. Be certain to use it in a well ventilated area and avoid exposure to skin.

I use Goof-Off. It's recommended by Zipp on their tech support page. Have been wanting to try MEK but still have more than half of a bottle of Goof-Off at home so I want to go finish that one first. Acetone works well if it's not much glue.

Hairdryer and a plastic tire lever...then use whatever liquid you choose. Get the glue barely tacky and it pushes/rolls right off the rim bed.
