How many miles did you ride in 2008?

Here's a couple questions for all of you:

1. How many miles did each of you ride in 2008?
2. How many miles are you planning to do in 2009? (you can round it to the nearest 50 or 100 miles)

As for me, i rode 3,148.7 miles in 2008. Hoping to do the same amount, maybe 3250 total for 2009.

I only did about 1200 miles this year.
But, that was around 1100 more than 2007! I'm planning on riding much
more in '09.

  1. 2008 = 11,345 (assuming I don't ride on NYE)
  2. 2009 = No idea.. I'm signed up for Ironman Florida, so my riding mileage will likely drop to allow for swimming and running. So.. let's just say 11,344.

Not nearly enough! Only about 800. Got to pick it up several notches for next year.

I was injured all year and did not get on the bike until August 2nd. I set myself a goal of riding 2000miles between August 2nd and December 31st.

Today was my last "ride of 2008" and my mileage ended at- 2,044.38

I am extremely happy with that although my "yearly average" is WAY down from normal. I've already set my goals for the first 6 months of 2009 and can't wait to start adding miles on our annual New Years Day "First Ride".

Happy New Year and safe miles in 2009 everyone!

8,000 miles. I was hoping for 10,000 but weather and scheduling did not play into my favor.

2200 miles logged in 2008 . . . 2009 goal is 3000 miles or more! The plan is for less business travel = more riding time.

I clocked 4066.8 with 229.8 hours in the saddle. Not to bad considering we get six months of snow.

2008 probably around 1000 to 1200.
2009, shooting for the moon. 4k. We'll see if it pans out or not. Hopefully going to start strictly commuting in March and it's 13 miles each way.

7800 miles, but we don't really have winter in San Diego...and I decided to ride all year, not switch to running for the non daylight savings months

Something rediculously low; probably 2,200-2,600 miles. In the summer months I was only getting 400-600 miles per month.
Yet, I still managed to have a somewhat successfull season.

Funny enough, but it's hard to say. I stopped loggin in Bikewire sometime in november. Not to mention that I wasn't logging a lto of my cross rides once that started in October. No races, etc.

So....without the racing, etc. I logged 3161 miles on Bikewire. That's easily 200-300 short (hell I did 20 today that's not counted on there).

Hours....I didn't log my trainer hours on bikewire....rough guess is around 220 or so. Actually probably more....oh well.

I have a 250 hr year planned for next year, but we'll see. It will probably be more.

HTFU slacker!

I had 4,400 miles this year, down from 5,800 miles last year. I ramped up my hours at work this year to help pay for college tuition for our two oldest kids. Responsibility, phooey!

4984 -- 16 miles shy of 5000. Thought about trying to get in one more ride and decided to just write it off to statistical error

Next year I'm aiming for at least 5500. Instead of hiking vacations like this year, we'll be doing cycling vacations--nothing like a week of 60-100 miles/day to boost your annual total.

some nice numbers for us midwestern folk who have to deal with the weather and what not messing up are riding.

i had 3182 miles (180 hours) out on the road. this is my third year riding and this number is a personal best by some 600 miles. i have a very pathetic 51 hours on the trainer, but i expect that number to at least double as i train this winter for some 09 Colorado fun. let me not forget a little bit of running i did with 235 miles on the feets . later.

I've done maybe 700-750mi. I plan to do 2000-4000mi. I'm a teacher so I can ride a butt load over summer. I hope to work part-time at a bike shop over the summer. I also want to start a cycling club at the school I teach. I want to average 40-50mi per day in the summer.

I don't have a working computer on any bike right now (or since September) and even then only my road bike had one. Don't much care, either.

A swag is ~6-7,000 miles. My road miles are up and with fuel costs, my commuter miles are way up. Motorcycle miles are way, way down.

Only 1815 miles this year. But I really stopped cycling in September when my commuter was stolen and two days later I had 7 foot of water in my basement. Completely destroyed my plans of riding and I haven't been on a bike since even tho I'm really itching for a looooong solo 50 mile ride.

I'm still trying to collect my mojo to get back into the saddle.

I'm 40 and haven't ridden a bike in about 13 years,but I got a fever and the cure wasn't more cowbell....
So I bought a new rode bike and started riding(late in the season around Memorial Day) and logged in
2638 miles for 2008.
