POLL: Should saddle and bar tape color match?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It only really matters when you're not on the bike.

The only exception is a black saddle... put whatever color bar tape you want.

But we all know white saddle and white bar tape is the fastest

Wondered why I was so D__m slow, Black tape and white saddle. I am not going to change because it is still confortable on a 60 plus mile ride.

If the front of your frameset is a different colour than the back, you can match saddle and bar tape to the respective ends (tyres too!)

But really... who cares....

They can be whatever color you want as long as it is black.

Anything other than black looks silly. Maybe brown leather is OK on a retro-steel bike.

It must match unless the colors are tasteful with the frame and don't clash.

For the most part, it shold match. Some exceptions can be made, for example:
-The rider in question is holding a coveted jersey, the bar tape can match the jersey (aka: The Don)
-Black saddle/white tape (aka: The Classic)
-White saddle/black tape (aka: The Boonen)

My saddle has white writing on it and IMO it goes well with my bar tape.

Ooooh I like your bike Crimson.
It does not matter but it does help if you like when people say that about your bike.

Disregard all those people who voted "Who cares" . . . . . they're heathens. One day they'll be banned.

Maybe I should start another poll asking if hood color should match tape color. Then maybe the heathens will have an opinion.
