Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek will always have a hardon for whomever can help sell their overpriced wares.

He doesn't need to ooze anything other than he's a nice guy and that's enough for me.

It's called marketing. Trek does a great job at this. Some like it and buy Trek, some don't. More power to 'em.

Marketing. Whoah. What a concept.

I realize that's Business 101 and therefore far too complex for most bike weenies, but that's all this represents.

I like Levi--he's one of my favorites because he seems relatively normal and grounded.

It's called "sponsorship". You sell yourself to their advertising people in exchange for free stuff. It's what makes the cogs of professional cycling turn 'round. He used to shill for Rabobank. Which is a Dutch bank, not a cycling team. And Colnago, which makes bike frames just like Trek.

Or maybe Levi won because he was on a Trek. You might consider buying one, too.
Just a thought.

Of course it's marketing. Y'all are missing the point.

1337 speek!!!!! They're targeting a whole new generation now.

I have no idea whether he's normal, grounded, or nice. Never met him. Don't live with him. Likely won't ever live with him either.

I just thought the whole waving three fingers around, and now this, is a bit much. and when you follow it off of the whole 'let levi ride' thing, it seems a bit delusional. No one really had any illusions Levi was leading Astana at the tour last year. And this is the tour of California, which is essentially a warm up race for the rest of the season. No many guys were hanging their season on it.

I just don't understand why they put a 3 between the roman numerals. What are they getting at?

L=50
3=3
V=5
I=1

536? huh? Does Trek know something we do not?

Or is Trek just trying to be clever?
