Interesting. I have one weak ankle I've always felt I should protect with some kind of ankle support. Is this the model? You don't have any problems fitting it in your shoe?

I always wondered about that. I've been a bit leery of them, figuring I might loop it out the first time I tried a jump.

You've got to relax a bit and not get so stressed when the Mrs. says no, you can't get another $%#%^^%$%^ bike .

Seriously, though, I hope it turns out OK and not a matter for alarm. Good luck, Ed.

Just wondering, how long does it take to replace a shifter? The guy at the shop said 1 hour of work but I highly doubt that.

Probably less than that, but I would bet the minimum work billed is always at least an hour.

Well this time I'm lucky because im still in my first year of owning the bike and I only need to pay for the shifter. But he quoted 200 bucks if it happens again.

^^ All the Pac 10 and my adopted Zags are out, so it's become a real so-what for me; BUT - - I'll root for anyone who downs UConn

Oh, and we just found out last night that Tony Bennett's leaving WSU for Virginia

I am going to root for Michigan St. because then if they win we don't look quite as bad for blowing a 13 point lead.

Michigan St is riding a wave and could ride it a couple more games, U conn looks too balanced to beat, but Roy is a class act. I gotta go for a home boy.

I didn't know where to post this but earlier this week I had to fly in to NYC on business and decided to let Junkyard know. Junkyard came into the city to meet me for supper on Monday night and it turns out Junkyard is, er, a Junkyardette.

Now that I think of it, never did Junkyard ever state that she was a he. I think we all just assumed that she was a guy. As you can imaging I was pretty shocked and she just said that she tried to stay gender neutral as guys tend to gang up on the female members and she wanted to avoid that.

I know what you're thinking. Maybe Junkyard is a trannie. No, there was no adam's apple although I will admit that I didn't explore further, if you know what I mean, even though she is quite frankly very hot.

I had to get that off my chest.

I find that happens on a lot of forums.

People just assume other users are male, unless the female states it, or their username is blatantly obvious like "Bikerette" or something.

On another forum I remember thinking a certain user was male, until I met her at a criterium meet

I think I found a video of the Spring 2009 TGMBG gathering. The narrator says something about "Deep in the woods of North Carolina..." so this must be it!

That race face diabolus d2 stem I have has got to have the worst interface of any stem that I have ever owned, all it does is creek and moan and it's a chore to put on and to uninstal. Took it off after my ride because I was getting fed up with the creaking and put the Gravity Lite Stem back on and it's dead quiet now. Worst piece of junk that I have ever owned.
