Anyone an Above & Beyond fan? Or dance music in general ... ?

Listening to TATW 207 ... one of my favorites.

I know there is a forum for this, but I just wanted to know if there are any NorCalers with similar music tastes ... ?

I like high energy euro techno dance music, don't know A&B but some of their songs on Amazon sound like my style... doesn't list TATW 207 though.

Here's my favorite... Calabria getting a little old now though and the artist died last year.

Does Metalica count as dance music?

About as far from dance techno as one could possibly be.

I think Pete and I will be at the dinner shortly after 5.
Look for me. I'll be the one with the look of abject terror... and a funky red cycling cap.

Not so much into trance. But if someone's playing some sick dark breaks/dubstep/DnB/IDM you'll probably see me there dancing my ass off...

Hells yeah, I'm all about dance music. Most of the trance I listen to is of the vocal variety.

I listen to c895fm.com all day at work -- award winning dance music station out of Nathan Hale High School in Seattle. The one thing I miss the most about the area!

Great video! We love that song!

Trance Around the World is a podcast you can download for free. Look it up on iTunes, or use your favorite torrent search engine. Comes out weekly. Also look for State of Trance from Armin Van Buren.

I always thought Energy 92.7 fm was the only dance station in the west coast.... I usually download stuff from the UK, like the Essential Mix on Radio 1.

Have you heard any of the Oceanlab albums? I'm wondering if I should buy them ... the remixes sound tite.

I'll confess, this made me dial in some Chemical Brothers on my iPod this morning (well what else would I listen to?). Studying at Manchester University in the late 80's/early 90's made it virtually impossible to not develop a liking for dance music, but my muscial tastes run pretty wide in a variety of directions.

I am without a doubt 100% out of touch with anything current though.

Alternate, with SRV:

And believe it or not, we danced to it. Where kids - what did we know?

Bossman, you're going to get us in trouble, pulling out that old stuff.
But, as long as you are, my first big time rock concert (not this clip, but this person)

90% of what I listen to is electronic music, much of it dancefloor oriented. But I've never heard of these folks I tend to listen to (and write and DJ) a lot of bass-heavy underground stuff and minimal techno.

So much music out there...

This is my education thread. Please provide a good example link as I have no idea what "bass-heavy underground stuff and minimal techno" is.

Well, there's a LOT of stuff that falls in those categories, but are some mixes you can download to have a listen. These are long, like 60 minutes, but they'll cover a lot of ground in that time

minimal techno from SF's Monocle: https://www.monocle-music.com/_kontro...trol%20128.mp3

dubstep from SF's SamSupa: https://brapdem.com/music/samsupa-brapdemvol04.mp3

I'm a house head. Love DJ Dan, Donald Glaud. I';ve been listening to a lot of Daft Punk and my new favorite group is Justice.

but yea, when I used to party, we'd stay in the house room, drum N bass rooms.

jinws: God I miss 90's house! Don't get me wrong, I love me some Justice. But I'd take an old Donald Glaude set any day over them.
