Record Square Taper Bottom Bracket Cups
I have a badly damaged Italian threaded frame with 2006 Record components which I want to move to an English threaded frame. The bottom bracket has low miles on it and I hate to spring for a complete replacement. Can I just replace the cartridge cups with English threaded versions and reuse the rest of the unit?

I don't have the cups laying about but can acquire a used English threaded BB on E-bay. Not a component I like to buy used (no way of telling how many miles the bearings actually have on them) but the cups should be fine. I just wanted to make sure there were no other differences that would prevent interchanging the cups.

Italian BB shells are 2mm wider than English,but I've never measured the actual end to end distance of a Campy BB sans cups. Unfortunately, all I have uninstalled is an Italian one, so that measurement will just replicate what you already have in hand.
