Yeah the Orbea is nice, but I dig the Volks on the WRX way more. Bronze Volks own!
Don't really have a bike.

Well, this thread sure is intimidating. My humble entry is also my first road bike:
1982 58cm Nishiki Marina 12 bought on craigslist for $100
MKS GR-9 pedals
MKS metal toe clips
white leather straps
Kool Stop Continental brake pads
Sakae SR 60mm stem
Sakae SR Road Champion drops
white Bike Ribbon Professional tape
Dia-Compe non-aero brake levers with gum hoods
Shimano stem shifters
white Selle Italia saddle
all new cabling
Still want to get:
new chain
new tires, probably 27" 1-1/8" Vittoria Zaffiro
maybe new wheelset or just get the current ones new spokes and trued

It might look dangerous but I love it. Not to mention it keeps the jewels ummm...happy.

I almost sold this on ebay. Just ended the auction early today to keep it. I was going to sell it, and buy a Soloist Carbon, but I just can't part with this bike. I'll just buy a Soloist when I have the extra funds to do it. I can't part with this fine American made machine!
like you, I have been considering selling mine to help fund a Ridley Damocles that I lust for, but I think I'll just save more money and keep it.
Slow down

Find it hard to believe. I would love to see picture of you riding that setup.
There is not as much drop as you are both suggesting...the ground is uneven in that photo. Love when guys think they can comment on bike fit from a single photo from a weird angle...but okay...

How do you stay on that saddle? Is it a trick of the camera, it looks like it's aimed at your front hub.

But yeah, that angle and probably a wide angle point-n-shoot lens is distortion the proportions a bit it seems.
Just curious.... what saddle IS that?

I'm the same way (more legs than torso). 6'1", went with a 56cm vs. the 58cm from last bike. The shorter top tube helps with reach, which I prefer to rocking a shorter stem/handlebar set up. Seat tube sticks out a little more than normal, but fits like a champeroni!

Maruishi RX-105 frame/fork, Shimano Ultegra 7-speed, TBone road stem, Modolo handlebar, Flite saddle, Mavic OpenSport rims, Cateye Enduro computer, SPD-SL pedals
Behold my noble steed. It's a bit long in the tooth, but still going strong. I bought the frame in 1990 for a hundred bucks, and got a shiny new Ultegra group that Christmas. The front wheel came from my criterium commando brother in law's stolen Peugot (the thief took the bike off his car rack and left the front wheel!), the rear (w/a 13-19 Suntour WP freewheel, so friction shifting was the order of the day) from Nashbar. I got the TBone stem 'cause I wanted a lot of reach, and because it looked cool. I rode the thing steadily 'til the kids showed up; as the years progressed the off-bike periods got longer and longer, but I still managed to put on some miles here and there...
After 18 years the hubs were so worn it was like riding on ratchet wrenches. A local bike shop built me new wheels on the never-used Ultegra hubs last summer; after 2 decades it finally goes click when I shift! I just got the SPD-SL pedals to go with the new shoes I had to buy last week 'cause my old shoes disintegrated. I'm thinking this winter it might be time to strip it down and repaint it; the scratches and scuff marks are starting to take over. Some kind of black-to-[yellow or gold] fade might look interesting. We'll see. For now, I'm just content to get back to riding regularly after a years-long hiatus.
