Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not bad at all, that gave me a 58.6cm frame, i ride a 58 but a 59 would be ideal.

I really appreciate this survey. For me, it affirms that I at least nailed the right frame size, which, I pretty much guesstimated based on my perceived comfort riding a friend's bike many years ago. Now I know any further tweaks can be achieved simply with stem length/height, handlebar drop/reach, and seat positioning. Still a myriad of variables, but at least I'm convinced I'm in the infield of the right ballpark. Thanks.

58cm frame

Funny story...

When I went to buy my first bike as an adult, I told the guy in bike shop I have really long legs. So he gets me a 22" (mountain bike) to try out, I get on and he says "holy S**t, you DO have long legs" Twas pretty funny

5'7"? That's my height and my Lemond Zurich size is also a 55cm. Its similar to my 52 cm Bianchi San Jose with the higher bottom bracket and my 54cm Trek 520 and 52cm Schwinn Madison.

One issue: just the top tube measurement is not a good measure of size, especially for the smaller sizes.

The 53.2cm tt on a Cervelo 51cm vs. the 53.0cm tt on a Look 51cm is very different, since the seat tube angles are very different. The Cervelo has 73 degree seat tube vs. Look at 74.5 seat tube, so the reach on the Cervelo is actually much less - prob. around 2cm less.

I'm 5'9&1/2"
I ride A felt F80 with a 545mm top tube.

I would not want anything bigger, infact I would like something about a CM shorter TT

The regression line predicts I should be on a 57.4cm top tube.
