As this is a cycling forum where does watching a 5 1/2 hour Tour de France stage rank on your scale of boredom?

So it's not like I never paid attention to it.

There's a reason for 20 minute highlight reels every night, vs. getting up early to watch.

I find cycling much more fun to DO than to WATCH.

Yesterday afternoon was one of those eerie times when almost no cars were on the road and yet the bike path was mobbed. "Niner Nation: park thy butts."

If that many people were interested in jumping off Brooklyn Bridge then I might think there was some attraction. But millions of Americans watching the Super Bowl doesn’t make it sound compelling. I would probably get a ban for the analogy that just popped into my head 😂

I enjoy watching Grand Tours and the classics. 1 hour highlights are usually a good compromise, but I will sometimes watch whole stages if I have the time. I find the tactical battles and mind games fascinating. The commentary is good too in the UK.

Went for a ride and returned about Noon to get off the roads before the early drunks and drug abusers took over.
Watched the game with my 87 y/o Pops.
I admit, for an OT game, this was a borefest.

Was there unexpected detachment of doors involved? Fun is definitely affected my air speed and altitude.

Great! Do whatever you want.

Since I don't ride a bike all day, every day. It turns out I ALSO have time to watch sports, when I choose to. They aren't mutually exclusive of each other.

That has been my observation, too. My kid got 2 concussions from playing softball.

I dunno man, the closer you look, the more ridiculous all sports become. Lemond made me fall in love with cycling; Armstrong helped me see how worthy of ridicule it had all become. Despite the dope, I still I loved watching the helicopter footage of those voluptuous roads in the Alps and Pyrenees.
The background scenery pretty much the only reason for me to watch the Grand Tours anymore, though Lance fanbois made me throw up in my mouth a little.
People join religions, support football teams, and hate other religions and other football teams, and political parties. Nothing you can do about it. But laugh.

I loved watching Lance race in his prime, but later knowing the truth about what went on hasn't completely spoiled the sport for me. I am excited by the current crop of top riders. They're exciting, passionate, feisty, and determined. There's some damn fine bike racing going on.
