everything nowdays has the tag slr

Probably not all the brands you listed use SLR to mean the same thing.

ED has different meanings too. I just found that out when I went to the hospital a few months ago. And it's not the same as what Viagra, Cialis or those other drugs would have us believe.

SLR has more letters than SL and is $5K-$10K more on the Trek Emonda models.
The difference is the SL uses the 500 level carbon tubing and the SLR uses the lighter more aero 800 level carbon tubing per the Trek website.

Trek has been using this SLR designation for over 20 years.
In Trek speak, it means "Super Lite Race". This is from my 2000 Trek 8000 hardtail. SL means "Super Light".
