1986 Team Fuji
So what do you guys think? Here is the add....
The TEAM FUJI model was next to the top offering from Fuji in 1986. The frame is quad-butted Cr-Mo steel, 58cm, 12 speed. This bike is in excellent condition, with only a few minor blemishes to the original finish. Components are all original Suntour Sprint including derailleurs, shifters, crankset, chainrings, brake calipers, levers, and sealed bearing hubs. Wheels are Araya alloy 700x25, quick release front and rear, with new tires and tubes. Bike has new derailleur cables and housings, new brake cables, housings, and pads, new chain, new brake lever hoods, new handlebar tape, and new pedals. An awesome bike. Delivery possible.

Market value - maybe 250ish, location dependant. This time of year, offer less. But I think that underprices the value of the bike as a rider.
Here is my 86 I picked up at a steal - the other paint scheme that was offered that year. Only other difference is my RD was replaced with I believe an 87 Suntour Cyclone (indexed) - I believe this was the first year of indexing by Suntour as they were trying to compete with SIS. The Sprint RD will be friction.
Really nice bike. The fluted post with paint in the recesses is a nice touch. The wheels are a nice compromise between aero and traditional wheels. Really great rider - quad butted chromo. I am holding on to mine.

$350+/-. My highish estimate is based on two factors:
1. Sprint group from that era is very desirable.
2. Condition of that bike appears to be excellent.
I might estimate similar Fuji models of that era, with lesser groups, to be more like $225 to $250 MAX.
While Sprint is beneath Superbe Pro in the product line, the aesthetics of the group IMHO are outstanding, it is perhaps the best "looking" group Suntour made. And being second in line, makes it functionally darn good too.

+1 A nice bike that appears to be cleaned up and ready to ride. Dependant on the condition of the wheels and how well the rest of it functions. Also dependant on if your buying it for yourself or to flip. In that price range the serious buyers have really thinned out. Judging from the ad and the pic it is being flipped, but they did put a reasonable amount of effort in to it.

Personally I am huge Suntour fan but since prices for decent condition Suntour parts can rival Campi, I just go for the Campi.
Great looking bike. If you above I70 use the winter climate and approaching holidays to get the price down!

I guess all that would be involved is packaging your RD and levers and shipping them to me, and waiting for my levers/RD to arrive on your doorstep.
I would not change it - wish mine had not been switched, but I guess indexing was the new thing around 86 (I think 84 is when SIS came out and maybe 86 or 87 when Suntour released their version) making this a transition year, so maybe my original owner had buyers remorse with respect to that and switched it soon after the purchase. The Sprint group is just under superbe pro. A complete group will get a nice price on ebay, but not as much as DA 7400 or superbe pro from that era obviously.
Again, the quad butted chromo frame rides really nice. Maybe I was low on my price - don't see enough of them to get a good idea.
What is the seller asking?

As I look closer I see those are not the original Sprint pedals. Anyway, maybe you can chisel down a bit based on that, and time of year.

If you are really stuck on getting indexed, best bet is trading the Sprint bits (derailleurs and levers) with someone, perhaps a BF member, for an indexed RX100 or Shimano 105 group. Then I would change the freewheel to a Shimano compatible model. Not a tough job for someone who likes to work on bikes. I would keep the rest of the Sprint bits if I were you.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.

I paid $100 for my '86 complete with an Shimano 600 indexed 6 (maybe 7) group (except brakes).
If you're interested in indexing:
I'd swap you even up my 600 indexed group for the OE Sprint group (I think I have a set of 600 calipers, but not the levers).

Or you save yourself the hassle of changing the freewheel by trading for my 6 speed suntour cyclone 7000 RD and Suntour DT shifters with 3 settings (friction, 7, 6 sp indexed). Then no need to change freewheel and chain...just sayin
