What NOT to do if you don't like your Mixte:
This just popped up on my local Craigs. At first glance it looked normal...then I saw the double top tubes...then I realized...
Take a look:
Looks really "STRONG" don't it?
Take a look:

Vintage Mens Peugeot Super Lightweight modified 10 Speed bicycle. This bike has had a frame modification and weights around 30 pounds. It is mostly all original and is lightning fast and super strong. These were Top of the line bicycles in the 70's and this one is a true survivor. The frame was cut and modified for less weight a long time ago and I have been riding this for about a month and have been having a ball with it ! If you want a Strong and Fast Vintage bike for a great price please come take a look.....We are located close to Chandler and Cooper in Chandler

Freakin idiot. Really worse than a drew, as most drews can be worked around: claw derailleur hangers, clamp on cable guides, etc. This bike has been destroyed. Too bad, as around here I can get a 50% premium on a Peugeot mixte over a regular Peugeot racing bike.

I had a nice tandem for a little while that was in great shape. However, someone had sawed out the stoker's top tube to give more standover. You guess it... worthless.

I believe you. I was selling one of my mixtes earlier this year and ended up shipping it to someone on the West Coast who was prepared to pay extra because they had a shortage of vintage mixtes.

i'm more curious about who drewfussed the bike. If it's the owner, that's a pretty brave (and dumb) owner, but if it's a bike shop or mechanic...that's like a doctor prescribing heroin.

Haha, feels like we'd be running an undercover sting operation. I'm willing to bet the owner may work with metal, but not bikes.

Drewfus?
Wouldn't that be a rather contrary twist of the term, considering the legacy of Henry Dreyfuss?
