help me decide on a winter project.
these are all local except the paramount. pretty much all the same price, but i can get the ciocc a little cheaper.
first is a pinarello veneto all shimano 105. not sure on a repaint, maybe just decals. change over to updated parts maybe 8-10 speed
second, ciocc.. repaint, new decals same as above.
third. 1977 paramount. repaint, new decals. back to original.
which one would you guys pick.

Whichever fit best. None are especially appealing to me, but I'd probably take the Paramount.

Schwinn. Some members here (JJHabs, Scooper among others) and their excellent Paramount builds make me really want one.

That Ciocc needs to be rescued. Especially if that's not a mass production model.
Great riders and under-rated.
Next, is the Pinarello for me. It looks to be in nice shape.
The only thing going for the Paramount, is its age. But that one would be the biggest effort, and likely the most satisfying.

I'm waiting to hear back from the owner of the ciocc. In one of the pics you can see a Columbus decal. I'm gonna find out what it is. I had a ciocc and loved the way it rode. The pinarello is a lower entry bike. And I'm wanting to go more of a 10 speed updated project and there's no way I would do that to a paramount.

Well, I talked to the proud owner of the ciocc. He informed me it is a Columbus sl. But, he also told me that the top tube cable guides and I quote " the shifter holder thingys " were rusted and had to be removed. Think I will pass on it for now, but keep my eye on it and see how much he drops the price over the winter.

I like all of them. I would take all three. The first two have more a agressive geometry while the Paramount as far as I can tell is a Touring model. Is the sticker on the top tube of the CIOCC hiding a dent? Not a big deal really, just a bit more work. Rescue them all, build them up and ride them. I'm almost done with my Pinarello Treviso Rescue/Build, pics and new thread soon.

Ciocc will be fun to do, my first choice. Interesting bike that not a lot of others see or have seen or have.
Pin' would be my second choice, I can't stand the color, but a repaint/rebuild would be fun. An "entry" Pinarello. Hmm.
Paramount would be my last choice. Cult following. I never liked those lugs, but I admire the craftsmanship.

I like the ciocc, just sounds like the frame is too far gone. And on the pinarello, I'm not sure if the veneto is a "entry" level frame, I'm just not familiar with the Oria ML 25 cromo frame.

I would have said the Ciocc before you found about its condition, but those shiny chrome lugs on the Paramount would have been calling to me regardless.

ok, now let me ask this. the pinarello and the paramount can be bought at $300. is this a fair price for either one. i plan on building the pina with campy 10 speed. but it also has a complete 105 group i can sell and and least get a little refund towards the build. the paramount needs a complete repaint and decals. and a full setup of parts that i dont have.

I vote for the P bikes. I would get both. The Paramount is becoming a deal at that price. The Pinarello is too, both will ride very differently.

I've never had a Paramount, so I would go for that one! :-) I'm drawn more towards the Paramount for is vintage 70's look!
