Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

First of all I can't believe nobody has posted here for more than 2 days...
Finally got tired of swapping pedals between the tri and track bike....

These pedals definitely look better in person.

Specialized Sirrus!!!

Hi. I'm looking to buy a Specialized Sirrus Sport or Elite. I heard from a LBS that the manufacturer already stopped producing 2009 model and 2010 model will be in the market very soon. Does anyone know if they will offer some discount for 2009 model once 2010 model is available? If so, I think I will wait till then. Please share your experiences how you got a bargain deal, too. Thanks.

you might want to follow your screen name and start a new thread - this one's for stuff you've already got.

Bought a used 70 some inch Yakima crossbar that I'm gonna cut down some, plus 2 gutter mount towers, plus 2 old wheel mounts.

I now have 3 crossbars, 5 bike mounts, and 4 wheel mounts.

Since we're very newbies, EVERYTHING. From lower end bikes, to bells, lights, panniers, netting for rack, and bike computers. (2 of each )

My old computer died. I got this one (Trek Incite 11i). It works great. has cadence and is easy to use. I have seen fancier ones but this suitms me just fine.

Cheers,

I just ordered this Castelli jersey tonight. I've been wearing nothing but Voler and Canari up to now so I'm psyched to try something new and Euro! Found this one in red, in my size for 34 bucks.

edit: I can't seem to get the photo to show up. Here's the URL: https://www.castelli-us.com/ps-933-1-...jersey-fz.aspx

Purchase before that was a Specialized Echelon helmet. Paid 55 for it and couldn't be happier. Was one of the few that didn't make my head look like a mushroom.

Had to pick up a new seatpost as my Isaac post busted. The seat shifted and the carbon grooves got shredded. So I got a Ritchey Wet Black seatpost to match my bars and stem.

Also took advantage of Nashbar's sale on Adidas 75%off with another 20% off for Father's Day. I paid a ridiculous $31 each for 2 jackets that are usually $125 each and 2 Jerseys that are $110 each retail. Also Cytomax 82 servings were on sale with 20% off, I got 2 for $22 each.
