New to Road and Road Cycle Fit
Hi there, I'm newer in the road biking field and have decided to make a new build. But the frame I'm looking at I can only find with a 51cm seat tube. I'm about 5'10" and my inside leg to the floor 33". My last frame was 56cm here, will this new frame fit me properly?
P.S. Sorry if the new thread button is frowned on these forums, I searched thoroughly and have yet to find me a helpful answer, thanks!

Wow, it will really make that much difference? This is the frame I was looking at (if it makes a difference): https://www.performancebike.com/bikes...7_20000_400332 . Can somebody enlighten me on frame sizes and how they affect the ride/how I can tell my fit (height, angle, etc.) so i can go on to pick the right frame for me?
Cheers

Basically the length from your saddle to the pedals, and from the saddle to the bars, needs to be close, possibly within 1/2 a centimeter in order to ride comfortably and effectively. If you have a frame that's 4cm too small, you probably can't make up the difference with longer stems, seatposts, etc... In other words it will be best to get a frame that is closest to the fit you need, and fine tune it from there. In the long run trying to make the wrong sized frame fit is a waste of time and money.
There are various fit calculators online, but for someone 5'10 you will probably want a 54-56cm frame.
