I got in a 50 mile ride yesterday, Fri. 1/18, and did another 50 mile ride today. It was chillier and a bit more windy today. Both rides were done in a leisurely manner, close to 5 hours. Both days I made stops for food and beverages, and errands. Today was 32 deg F, cloudy, and a light breeze when I started at 8:15 am. Hit the Bethany Beach DE boardwalk and then south to Fenwick Island. Continued from FI down into Ocean City, MD, to the OC boardwalk and rode that to the end at OC inlet. Stayed cloudy and gray the whole ride and the wind picked up, about 11am, to 12 mph out of the east and right off the water, temp around 40 F. Riding into the wind it was chilly, hands and feet especially. Riding with the wind was much warmer, vest and light jacket unzipped half way, and fingers and toes toasty. Both days the last 7 to 10 miles were pretty much into the wind and my old legs were feeling it. I guess because of the chill wind, my lower back really tightened up on me. I had to stop and do some stretches and give it a bit of a break. I have chronic spinal issues and that is the norm. Took some pics of my travels on a very gray day today.

Beautiful, even on a gloomy day.

In Indianapolis we have nothing that scenic. Not one thing.

It's dreary, colder days like these that make those sunny summer days effortless to appreciate. I too, have a bad habit of including my finger in photos..

I love the 50's. I was a teenager, invincible but totally adorable.

I'm jealous. If I took pictures this weekend, they would have been of an elliptical and a snow shovel.

Looks like some fun riding!

I do a century in the summer that turns around in Gloucester, MA, and every time I have to resist the temptation to get some fried clams for fear of how that might affect the 50 miles riding back.
