They are really good trainers. I have an older Direto X and it is hard to fault.

Yeah.. I hope it's not a sign that Elite is exiting the business in the US. Their latest model (the Justo) seems to be basically impossible to find at a US retailer, and if you find one, it'll be about $4-500 more than purchasing from a Euro site.

How very interesting. It wasn't on my radar at all- I was thinking Zwift Hub or maybe Wahoo Kickr Core, but I'm reading the DC Rainmaker review now and...well maybe.
I don't see it on Amazon for less than $599, tho. Will keep looking.

Wow, I got mine 2 years ago for $599 (I think) and thought it was a good deal. I hope this just means that they're coming out with a new model soon.

btw, Bikecloset is not a vendor I've known previously. Some internet checks indicate that it's a legit business (a bike store in Vacaville, CA), but people's experience with online ordering from them are mixed. I took a chance and placed the order. We'll see....

As I've already taken the plunge, I guess I'll find out. Others can do their own due diligence.

It’s a steal for $400. These are pretty high end trainers and well refined over several iterations.

I haven't set it up yet. That will take some time, switching over various things. Also, we have nice weather and I'm mostly riding outside this week, so I have a little time before I'd use it.

Well, it arrived today, just one day after the promised arrival date. So no complaints about the Bicycle Closet.

Bike Closet seems to specialize in really good deals on Sidi shoes. Too bad I'm not in the market for a pair of those...

i just ordered one to replace a broken kicker.
good weather or not i'd recommend testing the trainer out. when i got my first kicker in mid summer i made sure it worked in erg and simulation mode. then it sat on the shelf until november when i really needed it. i figured that if it were broken out of the box that i should get the ball rolling immediately.
