Not a Caribbean resort. These are actual palm trees in Port Dover Ontario where I met up with Biker395 during his amazing ride.

From this week's "camp-and-bike" trip to the High Sierra.
Mechanical issues meant the bike riding was a bust, but the sunrise scenery was grand.

I know the Death Ride used to go up to Blue Lakes as an option. It's a great cycling road, closed in winter, so the surface is smooth. Almost no motor traffic, since it ends at Blue Lakes.

Last Sunday during an overnight tour in S. Jersey. Ten day heatwave broke. It was cool enough for a campfire.
Coffee at sunrise.
I egret to inform you….

Took my first fall in 10 years on this sand road in Jersey. The sand was very dry thanks to a 10-day heatwave. Started sliding around near the top of a short rise. Stopped my forward motion, but before I could unclip I turned my front wheel to the right. It sunk about 3” into the sand and I toppled over.
Panniers helped cushion the fall, and fine sand is soft. But I was sweaty and had recently applied sunblock. My right side looked like a donut sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. At least no one saw me.

Vacationing up in Georgian Bay last week and took the 90's mountain bike with me to hit some nice gravel roads which would end with a nice little beach or an amazing sunset set over the lake. No place like it.

Took a few pics of a sculpture that is right on the lakefront in Milwaukee. Right before and right after sunrise.
