Shin pads/guards.

I ride a road bike. On roads. I have dual sided pedals, Shimano T8000, and am usually clipped in.

Even so, I still seem to end up catching my shin every so often. Does anybody have any suggestions for very thin shin guards, that will fit underneath a pair of Tudor York leggings please. If you're not familiar with the Tudor York stuff they aren't as tight as "proper" padded tights:

https://www.tudorsports.co.uk/york-t...th-stripe.html

Or anything that will function as a shin protector.

Thanks.

You’re worried about hitting your shins on the pedals and hurting your skin? Maybe socks would help. I’m at a loss, just accept the scrapes on your skin, it sounds way better than wearing shin guards. They (the powers that be) made us wear shin guards for youth soccer which was extra absurd, and the rule stuck around through high school!

I too ride with dual sided SPD ES500 pedals.
I do not have that issue because I always clip in.
Maybe you need a different pedal/shoe system?

OP is using platform pedals that have SPD on one side and pins on the other side:

Shimano PD-T8000 Dual Platform SPD Pedals | Explorer | Ride Shimano

Football (a/k/a soccer in North American vernacular) players wear shin guards under their tall socks, e.g.: Nike Mercurial Lite Soccer Shin Guards. Nike.com, which should fit under leggings too. Still, shin guards seem somewhat unnecessary.

Check Amazon for snake guards. Mine were fairly thin and worked for protection from dogbites.

got these last winter. they are called knee warmers, but I use them to contain my trouser on the drive side. they are pretty stretchy. I'll bet one could wear them under their cycling pants as an extra layer of protection. maybe buy 2 pair & double them up?
Unisex Winter Knee Warmer Knee Brace Sleeve Leg Warmer Knee Brace Pads Warm Thermal Knee Compression Sleeve Wool Cycling Ski Running Knee Brace Pad Thicken Knee Pads Sleeve Leggings Knee Warm Wrap

they can be pulled down over my shoe tops but that's not how I'm using them now, because I only need them to contain the pant leg bottom

That looks like an excellent idea, thanks. A quick google turns up lots of different types, one of them will probably do the job.

Clown- shin guards are mandatory under FIFA rules.
You are ranting about something that has been in place even at the highest level of the game for over 3 decades now.

Shin guards saved my legs countless times growing up. Like dozens of times per year between practices and matches.
I can't even imagine experiencing all the poorly executed slide tackles that would drill my shins or ankle bones without having shin guards to help reduce the impact.

You saying a long established rule and something that helps reduce injury is absurd is on brand.
