Ok people,
I edited the CR listing.
No, I wont delete this thread.
I had no intent of selling it to a forum member, just seeing if there is any people who know more then what can be found on the net about this bike.
I honestly think the 2 bikes are uncanny resemblance, thanks for pointing out a few details that proves me wrong.
Sure, I admit i picked it up for 100, how many bikes have we all bought, serviced and flipped? -MANY!!!
I bought this bike in a blizzard at thanksgiving.
Yes it has a full 105 group-set, Its a really nice bike and I hope to sell it locally to support my own bikes,
Its a really nice bike that is made in Japan, not China.

I hope you get a couple of people who really want it and it goes over what you are asking.
Thanks for showing it here, it has been an interesting thread.
From now on though, let's not use the internet for commercial purposes, ok?

I'm sure you didn't really mean to say......"From now on though, let's not use the internet for commercial purposes, ok?"
You mean't this specific forum, I'd bet.
Especially given the link in your signature. Beautiful workmanship by the way.

I never implied to sell it here, otherwise i would have just posted it up in the for sale pages.
Its pretty obvious I picked this bike up to clean up and flip.
I think its fine to share views of our projects we pick up and sell,
I have purchased 2 framesets over the forum that the seller clearly admits what he paid for it...I never had any problems with it either.
Its a case of knowing more then the seller that makes finding bikes fun.

No issues with the flip at all. But after owning the bike for several month, why are you interested in comparing it to a highly desirable high value collectors bike, complete with links to your sale site and the competing product, at the time you decided to sell? While you may not have intended to sell here, I bet you were hoping to drive traffic to your sale site. If not the questions re comparison to the RB-1 would have, could have and should have been made while you were rehabbing and preparing for sale, not after the ad was published.
And I believe the only reason the ad was changed was because you were called on an obvious attempt to cash in on something not related to what you were selling.
Sorry if this seems overly harsh and cynical, but thats really what I think is going on, and the combination of the at best ill-timed question of frame maker and the for sale links posted strongly support my conclusion.

incazzare.
Nobody cares what you paid for it, what you're selling it for, or that you're flipping it. People just didn't like that you said it was the same bike as an RB-1. You fixed that, so now no one cares at all.

What purpose would that serve?

Same purpose as any advertising. To help match up prospective buyers to sellers, or to create a buzz

It does. You've stated your opinion - and it is no more than that - several times in pretty insulting terms. We understand what you think. So can you please stop now before people start mistaking this for the Road forum?

Oh boy...is this getting into mud slinging..
Whoever wants to believe whatever...fine.
I just found the easiest way of showing the bike is to use the CR listing, its a pain in the arse to get the pics in my photobucket just to post them here for the question about comparisons.
As for marketing...knowing fellow forumites they would rather find a bike like this in the 100 dollar range, rather then what I am asking.
If and when I want to advertise this bike or any bike I will simply list it in the for sale section, I am a Paying yellow jersey Senior member and can do it proudly.
If I really want to throw dirt I see the one complaining in great detail is not even a yellow jersey member!

When I first spotted this thread's title, I assumed it would somehow come around to the huge difference between the very early RB1's and those that followed. The later ones had quite a bit in common with many other bikes, perhaps some out of the same factory, I don't know.
The early RB1's are really something special, but I've never owned one.

Sorry to go on-topic here but just wanted to mention I have only seen one other of these bikes and would judge yours to be the better of the two. My daughter made a trip to inner Detroit, met a bike lover that had one in his collection, he was a "bike taxi" hipster.
