Selling price for Miyata Sportcross (circa mid-late 1980s) ?
Husband is getting ready to sell his Miyata Sportcross from the mid to late 80s. Looks like it has Shimano 200GS brakes? It is in good condition. What is a reasonable selling price? I can investigate specs more if it helps! Ballpark is fine. Just didn't want him to sell for $30 if it was worth more...Thanks!

No Miyata is only worth $30, unless it is totally trashed out.
Its all about condition, so pictures are really a must. What model derailleurs does it have?
Around here, I would consider the Sport Cross to be a hybrid. Hybrids don't have tremendous value, but a really clean one, ready to ride, with sweet paint, might bring $125 to $150. If it needs fresh tires, cables, a tune up, etc., the value drops from there.

I sold a '91 Specialized Hardrock MTB with the same 200GS entry level group in the dead of winter for $75 here. Depending where you are the $125-150 starting point for the Miyata hybrid is a good one, but be ready to take $100 for it

This time of year if it is in good shape and clean...I wouldn't be afraid to clean it up and start it out at $225 and come down some if need be. Not many Miyata's around.
