This raleigh is huge, only shaq could ride it. Look at that head tube! Maybe it's on 650c wheels?

That would be one strange looking 5'11" rider. Talk about long legs!

Yeah, that's a monster.
Maybe the most excessive amount of rear brake cable/housing ever used, too.

If you were riding that bike and only 5' 11", you would have a source of great inspiration to not stop...

No way someone remotely close to 6' could ride that thing. Looks like you'd have to be 7' or maybe more!

The problem or perhaps advantage of many of those old tall bikes is that the top tube is rarely any longer than your small frame. That was the case on most of the japanese imports. In fact, if you look at some of the old Panasonic catalogs the bikes are displayed with only a couple of inches of seat post & the stem bottomed out on the head set. It's similar to the one size fits all sizing that goes on in todays compact frame bikes.

ha! nice...

I'm 6'5" and I have a 27" frame (68cm) Panasonic that looks pretty much the same, and it fits pretty nicely! with some moustache bars, I'm good to go!

Then again, looking at my bike, it doesn't look anywhere close to as big as the OP bike. damn!

I sold bikes in the late 70's and early 80's in NYC. At the time, there was a fad to ride bikes that were much too big. I don't know how or why that started. I argued gently with my customers that they wanted something that suited them, but in the end, I gave them what they wanted. I sold a few 27" frames to guys who were not tall.

jptwins, I'll facilitate if you want to buy this beast... I don't think it'd fit in my SUV though, even with the wheels off, I might have to strap it to the top!

This CL poster posts a lot of bikes in Austin, you can always tell by the tacky fridge on wood blocks in the background. They surely post enough bikes to know that this thing shouldn't fit anyone 5'11" to 6'4".

It would be worth it to buy for the fork to try another frame I have....
If I had the money I might check into that, problem is that it might not fit in a bike box well to ship.

My BF is 6'2" and has a 31" pants inseam. His legs are proportionately quite short. His pants inseam is the same as my ex-husband, who was 5'8" only in his dreams. Even if you added another 5 inches to my BF's height, that bike wouldn't fit him. It isn't about how tall you are, it's about the length of your legs.
