ISO: Flat Bar Thumb Shifters
My Mountain LX shifter is not holding the gear I select. I’ve tightened the screw underneath and it not staying in place. I’m looking for a replacement. Dunno- maybe it don’t like the cold weather.
i don’t need exactly the one shown, just something that will work in friction mode.
if it’s 7 or 8 indexed that just makes it more valuable. I’m trying to avoid getting the microShift version on Amazon….
Or- a mount for a Shimano bar end shifters. Like the Pauls or RivBike’s, but not so much money.
thanks

If you can wait for a restock or find someone on the forum whose holding, it's difficult to beat the Falcon friction shifters from VO for price and fit.

I’ve ended up with these janky thumb shifters, which you’re welcome to for the cost of mailing. They might have come from the BOC at some point. I’m not sure they’re even supposed to be paired.

I have a pair of Suntour Thumb Shifters if you're interested in ratcheted friction shifting.

Surprisingly, these cheapo thumbies were fab on my daughters Gardin. Light action, rarely missed a shift.

The front shifter still works fine.
I hacksawed off the shifter mount to reuse the brake lever and mounted an unpaired Suntour friction shifter for rear shifting that I had on hand.
Rear shifter
Front shifter
Mismatched but works fine.

Thanks for everyone’s help.
I’m going with the SunTours.
As far as my broken Shimano, I noticed some mating pins on the mounting pod were sheared. So I clipped some nails and dropped them in the mounting pod.
Then drilled out the plastic shifter bit.
It seems to work, in the stand. Proper 2mm pins might last longer.
cheers!
Plastic pins sheared off
Bits of clipped nails & drilled shifter mech.
