We had some particularly ugly (design-wise) team kit in the early 90's. I still wear it, not infrequently. It's Ugly ! but made from that era CoolMax fabric, which to me has always been the BEST fabric ever! Cool in the heat and warm in the cold. I handle all that era CoolMax stuff gently and treasure it !
As for TEAM KIT, I'll make reference to one which always might get me banned ... funny in a good way.

That's a tough call...unlike, say, wearing a Led Zeppelin t-shirt (where no one thinks for a moment you're trying to be a member of Led Zeppelin ...since, afaik, nobody in Led Zeppelin wore Led Zeppelin t-shirts, and it's a common cultural fashion statement to wear t-shirts endorsing your favorite band), wearing a sports team kit doesn't always come across as "endorsing your favorite team" ...though now that I think about that, I'm not sure why it's any different.

Ah, good on you then! I gotta admit, one of the things that to my mind "crosses the line" is the wearing of a complete kit. Y'know, a crap-ton of 12-year-old kids shooting hoops in an urban court might wear a red Bulls #23 basketball jersey, and maybe a tiny subset of those kids might also wear the Air Jordan sneakers...but you'll almost never see a kid wearing the complete Chicago Bulls team kit. And yet on nearly every bike ride I go on I see at least one ass-clown dressed head-to-toe in someone's complete team kit as if he's a member of that professional cycling team. Da fuQ? Have some self respect, dude!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone going that far here in the UK. I see the odd classic Team Sky jersey, but most people ride non-team branded cycling gear. Very few roadies ride in non-cycling gear eg T-shirts, casual shorts etc. The most common jerseys I see are Rapha with the classic armband. I have a couple of those myself.

I can only recall seeing that once: One of my very first club rides ever, I barely had any idea what group cycling was all about so I signed up for a slow, social C-Ride led by this quiet gentle older woman who looked like an archetypal Sunday school teacher. But when one rider showed up in full gold-on-brown Eddy Merckx team kit with a matching bike, the tiniest bit of snark emerged from her personality, and she started calling him "Eddy" throughout the ride.

Those type of hoops players get laughed off the court unless they have game. They'll still get laughed at anyway. Better to dress like Woody Harrelson or Jack Harlow in the versions of White Men Can't jump than an NBA wannabe. Something in the kit must not match. I don't know about that, team kits are usually top quality, don't always look horrible, and sometimes they can be had for cheap.

I have several Voler Factory Racing kits that fit well and look halfway decent, as they're not loaded with sponsor logos. I pick them up at end of the season sales.

I have a couple of "team" kits. One I bought for incredibly cheap (shorts, jersey and jacket for about $100) and the other kit was from our RAAM team. I don't wear either much because they aren't the most visible.

I'ts been years, but that was part of the Devil Mountain Double. We'd ride up from the Junction on the east side and down the west side. Great descent!

Hamilton is reported to have 365 curves on the west side, but I've never counted them. Definitely keeps you focused. They repaved almost the entire road after the big fire. Smooth!

The Junction restaurant has opened up once again, so riding out to the Junction and back is on my "to do" list -- once the weather and fitness allow it.
