Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They will only be here 2 days working, so a porta potty is not really feasible. As for the bathroom, I would prefer that they not come in the house, but I also try to be a decent person. We have a bath that is immediately inside the door to the garage, so we shouldn't have people wandering around the house. I often get work crews Gatorade, water, and after work beer since I try to be a decent person.

Come on down Velo Vol!
Saw a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen in town with Arizona plates. Vanity tag read - "H8SNOW". I'm guessing they also H8HEAT.

Simple stuff such as that goes a very long way.

Also a good thing they got the bridge closed right before the incident. In the films, you can see how much the traffic decreased right before the ship hit the bridge.

If a ship that size is moving at all, it's going to keep moving, whether it has propulsion or not. What it lost was control, which is electronic. You can see the big puff of exhaust when the lights came on momentarily and the pilot put the engines hard astern.

The speed I saw somewhere was 7.5 kts and it's not like this was a narrow span. That's fast enough take to a huge distance to stop and to do endless damage, but it's not that fast.

A fast current up there is about 1.5 kts, so not a huge factor. Low tide at that point was at 0235 this morning, so there was probably a sluggish ebb, maybe just enough to set them into that support. However, I think it's it's also possible the steering failed with the rudder off neutral.

Yessir. The ship put out a mayday I heard, which gave them a short window to cut traffic. Watching the video, I saw the ship heading towards the bridge, and a tractor trailer on the span. Hard to look away, but the truck made it.

Whirlwind of a day here. My boss (dept head) out on vacation so I'm having to make a bunch of final approvals for EOQ billing and deliverables. And then someone on my team just put in a two week notice... Lots going on.

If that’s 100 kts of ground speed, there would be no wind flowing over the wings, and the plane would drop like a stone.

Recently, several commercial flights went supersonic for a while, because there was a strong jet stream pushing them along. Supersonic ground speed, that is.

That could be my sister who lives in Florida now. She's one of those who puts on a sweater when it gets down into the 70s.

My Neurosurgeon gave the ok for me to have the high frequency spinal cord stimulation procedure. He also gave 1 Doctor recommendation though I asked for 2. He was quick to respond and seems like a guy that looks out for the best interest of the patient. Now I have to make decisions. I could be a few months away from relief. Not everyone responds to the procedure.
