Does the product do the job well? Why go cheaper? Just use it a little less. I use Pedro's Bike Lust when I use it but I so rarely use it. I do clean my bikes but I just don't lust them often anymore. I don't know if Bike Lust is cheaper I haven't bought any in a while but I would continue buying a product I know works and that I enjoy using. If I didn't like it I would switch.

How about a clean rag, maybe dampened if there is something really dirty. For any tar, you can use odorless mineral spirits. And if you want to wax the bike, any spray furniture polish works fine.

If that's the case, you can get silicone spray for much less.
Blaster Silicone Lubrcicant 11 oz
WD-40 Specialist Silicone Lubricant 11 oz

Regular WD40 works well on the Spring wet road worms. Easier if you get to them before they dry and harden.

Related question. When I clean the drivetrain, invariably the old dirt and grease splatter the frame so it turns into 1. Clean drivetrain 2. Clean the mess off the bike.
Is there a spray on wash off product that gets the grease splatter off? (I typically use Dawn in a bucket and a sponge, dry and then use wax to get the remaining grease off.

Soap is a little wonder chemical that works great on frames. I just use regular liquid hand soap and a soft brush.
