Simple. The name.
That's no more than a $1400 bike, with 3 G's of royalties stacked on top. It's bad enough they put the Ferrari name on it, much less a pretty ho-hum cruiser styled bike.

It could be a Colnago built bike....

The Ferrari CX 70 bicycle represents the top model of the new collection of bicycle produced by Turbo in collaboration with Colnago for Ferrari. The CX 70 is characterized by an exclusive design and a rich equipment of accessories to guarantee maximum comfort.

+1. You would think that Neiman Marcus sent it to them as a cast-off.

For that matter, why a hybrid? Doesn't make sense - for a snob-charged brand such as Ferrari, the only thing suitable is a road machine (such as the special edition Ferrari Colnagos). https://www.colnagonews.com/en/ferrari60/index.php

A bit more like it...

I'm still scratching my head as to why Ferrari is marketing to the wannabe.

The Nexus group on it isnt available in North America. Shifting is electronic, it has generator to charge the battery pack which is located on the down tube and the front shocks dampening is electronicly controlled.

I'd like to know the MSRP on that group!!!!

I saw that group on a Bianchi Milano at one of the local International Car Shows - Jaguar booth, I believe. At least a few of that group have trickled into the States.

The gruppo is expensive, a few thousand dollars just for the components. Not to mention that is has the automatic shifting, and the suspension being automatic, and there was something else that it had that was new and all that.

I paid over $1000 LESS for a Rohloff equipped bike, the Civia Hyland Rohloff, IMO a much superior item. Auto shifting is for minimal riders who are unlikely to buy a bike in that price class anyway.

As far as the Ferrari name use remember that Ferrari is now a wholly owned subsidiary of FIAT (Fix it again Tony).
