105 7000 cranks w/ Tiagra everything else
Any issue rocking 7000 (11 speed) cranks with Tiagra (10 speed) everything else?

I think it will work perfectly … for what that’s worth

It would probably work fine but I would say cranks are probably the last thing I would upgrade. For an instance my Mountain Bike is XT derailleur, shifter and brakes but SLX cranks because honestly the crank wouldn't make a big enough difference to upgrade to XT if I already had a crank on it which I did. If I was starting from a blank slate I still would prioritize my derailleurs, shifters and brakes.

It should work fine. I am curious for the reason for matching them up. IMO, if you are purchasing the 7000 crank set as an "upgrade", it really is not one. If it is for dropping some weight, they are not light. I get it if the crank set is already available to you. If you just need to replace the present crank set, why not another Tiagra. I have a 4600 that I would part with, pm me with interest.

many would consider the R7000 crank to be an upgrade over a Tiagra crank
the drop in weight alone would constitute upgrade - R7000 crank is a hollowtech design that prob weighs around 140g less (? - possibly as much as 200 g ?)
and good chance the R7000 chainrings are better quality (than Tiagra)

I am waiting for the explanation too. Maybe the OP got a take-off 105 crank or something? But it would work, I believe

Shimano Compatibility Chart 2022-2023
But Lennard Zinn writes:
"The spacing between 11-speed chainring teeth centers is not narrower than on 10-speed chainrings. In some cases, it is even a bit wider on 11-speed. So your system will perform pretty much the same as it does now if you were to replace your 10-speed chainrings with 11-speed ones."
Further, FSA sells cranksets that are "Shimano 10/11 speed" compatible.
So it's a good bet that using 11-speed Shimano cranks with 10-speed everything else should be "pretty much the same".

Sometimes bike mfgs will cheap out on the crank. OP may not currently have a Shimano crank at all. The 105 crank isn't much more $ than the Tiagra, I'd choose the 105. I agree there is little point in swapping a functional Tiagra for 105.

I also read the Shimano doc and found the Zinn info
have one bike just recently paired Tiagra 10 spd with a GRX 810 11 spd crank (and a mish-mash of other 10 and 11 speed components) - works well (so far - two rides)

Got a 1x crank (Sugino Messenger with a Race Face 40t... yes I know, parted off one of my track bikes but works) on my zwift set up and want more gears. 105 is like 5-10 bux more than the Tiagra. Ultegra equivalent is twice as much.
