Peugeot U010M 57 with rust and bad tires
My husbands Peugeot bike has been sitting in the garage for many years and sadly has rust and the tires are degraded. I don't want to put it in the trash if it has some value. Could anyone offer an opinion as to if it might be worth something? I am a newbie so can't post pictures. The number on the bottom is 1366532 as well as the model U010M 57.

If you don’t want to hassle selling this bike , you may consider a local co-op to donate it to. There are folks who would love to clean that bike up and ride a nice vintage road bike. There is a Fanny for every saddle!

If you don't have a coop and you want to be rid of it, wrap a piece of cardboard around the top tube with "FREE" in large letters and place it on the curb.

+10 $20 bike, maybe $25 in as is, as it sits condition. Refurbishing it will cost more than what you will get out of the finished project. Better off turning over a project like this to someone with the time/tools/aptitude/pile of parts. While that description fits me, if I saw this bike at a garage sale for $10, I'd buy it and immediately donate it to the co-op. I wouldn't cover the consumables to refurbish it.
Why it can make sense for a co-op? They typically have donated consumables and volunteer mechanics. So they can put "free" tires and cables on it, while I have to pay for that stuff.

Many thanks for responding. The tires are completely shot -- cracked and degrading so when I tried to add air just made a hissing sound. I suspect the inner tubes are gone as well. I think the coop idea sounds like a good one.
