Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Hottest E bike out there.

Edit: Presentation is perfect, background could be better. I would rather see more people on bikes even if it is an E- bike than the alternative. His aethos was also hot.

Actually, e-bikes are hotter... the energy losses in the battery and motor... I believe that looking for heat is one of the ways they catch cheaters running a hidden motor.

About as stealthy as an e-bike gets.

Which one is the e-bike?

i can’t say it’s as nice a ride as my aethos, and certainly heavier (around 23.5lb as shown) but i do think it’s about as close as you can get to a quality road bike feel with current technology. the motor won’t give you more than 215w effective power at the axle, which drops to nothing at 20mph or to around 100w max if the speed is lower than 8mph. definitely won’t propel you up a steep grade by itself but for my use case (interesting rides in a hilly place while keeping my 60s power output between 125 and 200 and heart rate between 80 and 95) it’s been good so far. i leave it off on flat ground most of the time, and for grades less than 8% I’ll let it add about 75w. haven’t done a really big climb yet, some 75’ / mile rides, twin peaks yesterday, all very doable within the parameters.

it’s also a fun commuter on full power, takes me about 6 min to get to the office, 9 min to get back.

Points for presentation.
Saddle color doesn’t seem to flow to me. Maybe if the tape white, or had more white in it, otherwise black saddle would look better.

if you like the fit, chop the periscope.

Black saddle on the way (temporarily stolen for another bike) and will trim the periscope.

This is what I wish my chrome Super le Tour could be, but I hate that it has no braze-ons and a modern build plus clamp-on bottle cages & cable stops just doesn't work for me at all.

Very hot, the red DT hub decals really stick out though.

My guess is either the headset or the 31.8 quill stem?

Bingo! Good eye. That stem was non-negotiable for me LOL. If I couldn't find a stem like that, I would have just done the build with downtube shifters, 8 speed, etc, etc....and probably sold it.

FWIW I really like the Soma Highway One bars, they're a modern compact shape but are available in 26.0mm and polished silver. Can be a bit of a bear to get a quill stem without a removable faceplate around the bends though!

I really like Highway Ones too! I have them on my track bike.

The biggest thing for me with this build was more options for bars in 31.8, and being able to mount accessories easily if needed (like my computer).

Pretty hot for an older bike. I like the white saddle just fine, but it requires a balance with white bar tape. I'm not at all a fan of the swirly tape on there now. Definitely trim the stack.
